As a board-certified dermatologist, the first time I heard about at-home Microinfusion devices, I was skeptical.
Could an at-home treatment really offer the same visible results that are offered in clinics… for a fraction of the cost?
If you’re like me and you grew up during the Botox era, it may sound too good to be true.
But as my patients enter their “Notox” eras and opt for more long-term, holistic approaches to aging, I’ve been getting more and more questions about Microinfusion, specifically at-home devices.
With so much buzz around at-home Microinfusion, the idea of achieving firmer skin, minimizing scars, reducing fine lines and evening out skin tone without stepping into a clinic became more appealing to me than ever!
But which devices actually work? Which Microinfusion brands are worth buying?
I went down the research rabbit hole and ended up testing 5 top at-home Microinfusion brands, and here’s my honest review!
But quickly, what is Microinfusion and how does it work?
Microinfusion involves creating tiny channels in the skin, and then injecting small amounts of powerful skincare ingredients into the surface layers.

This can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and smoothen the look and feel of your skin texture, while helping to infuse active ingredients into your skin.
Micro Infusion can effectively tackle:
Wrinkles
Dark spots
Uneven skin tone
Dullness
Sagginess

When performed regularly at a clinic, these treatments can cost 1000s of dollars.
So the main benefit of at-home Microinfusion devices is price and convenience.
Not only can you get the treatment at a fraction of what you’d pay in a clinic… but they also save you the hassle of driving to appointments every few weeks.
As a busy mom, saving time and money is music to my ears!

When it comes to at-home Microinfusion devices, here are 3 important things to look out for:
Brand Reputation. Is this a reputable company? Are they backed by dermatologists? Do they have authentic, verified reviews from real people? There are plenty of brands out there just out for a buck, it’s important to differentiate between a legitimate brand and one that fails to deliver, especially considering microinfusion involves injecting a needle into your skin!
Price. Be wary of the price, too cheap (less than $10) usually means poor quality when it comes to Microinfusion treatments, or worse, unsafe. However, too expensive ($400+ per session) may mean you’re being overcharged. You want to find something that is excellent quality at a fair price.
Quality. This one is trickier to tell if you’re not an expert, but just like any other product or service, not all at-home Microinfusion devices are created equal. The main thing to look out for is single-use needle heads to reduce the risk of infection. This is your skin we’re talking about, and you don’t want to gamble on it!
Dr. Dana’s pro tip: Avoid at-home dermarolling! ❌
The wonderful thing about Microinfusion is that unlike dermarolling, needle heads are typically one time per use, meaning that after you use it you throw it away.
This makes them typically more hygienic and safer than multiple-use tools (like dermarolling!) when used as directed because it minimizes the risk of infection and irritation.
And if you see an at-home Microinfusion treatment that reuses the same needles more than once, run!
